Day 17A: First Padlet Card Sort

We began work on our quadratics unit. To see how much students remembered from previous instruction and to build the need to know more details, we started with a card sort ... on Padlet!

It works!

The author of a padlet is the only one who can move cards around. So you must give students editing rights for a card sort to work: Setting (modify) >> Privacy >> Hidden Link >> Can Moderate >> Submit

Next tip ... if multiple groups of students are doing the card sort, then you need multiple copies.

My students work in groups of 3 or 4 and I needed 8 copies.  You can copy your original easily, and when you do, you get distinct URLs for each Padlet.  I put those links on our class website.

The next tip ... when a group is sorting cards, they need to divide the work and refresh their screen often to see what each member of the group is doing ... or else work on one computer per group.

It sounds a bit daunting at first, but once you get the details, it's not difficult.  I will definitely use this again ... soon!
